AUCTION FAQ 

 

What Is The Spring Auction and Social & Why Is It So Important?

The Oak School Auction and Social is held every spring and serves as the Oak PTA’s largest fundraising event of the year.  The money raised at the Auction goes directly back to Oak School and allows our PTA to bridge the gap between state funding, what was raised in our direct ask, and our actual expenses.

 

Who Attends The Auction?

Parents, Teachers and Staff attend the Auction. No children attend this event.However, this year we will be providing onsite child care to make it easier for parents to attend.

 

Should I Attend The Auction?

Yes! Many parents and staff enjoy attending the Auction because it allows them a chance to socialize outside the classrooms and foster friendships as a school community. It is also a great way to support your children and raise funds that directly benefit our school. BONUS: If you purchase a ticket to attend, you will have 48-hours early access to the silent auction items.

 

What Happens At The Auction?

Doors open at 6pm with a complimentary welcome drink and passed appetizers. The cash bars will also be open serving a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and our DJ will be playing music for mingling. After that we will serve a buffet dinner, open our Wine Wall and sell tickets to our other interactive live games. During this time many people are checking on their online silent auction bids to see if anyone has outbid you. After everyone has had a chance to eat and settle in we will stop the music and hold our Live Auction for about 15-20 mins. After the Live Auction, all online bidding is closed so we crank up the music and dance the rest of the night away. Doors close at 10pm.

 

What Items Will Be Auctioned Off?

Each year we have a team of parent volunteers who work diligently to procure a variety of auction items. The specific items auctioned off vary year to year but always include: Summer Camps, Restaurant Gift Certificates, Oak Hosted Kid and Parent Parties, Sporting Events, Fitness and Wellness Items, Dental Services, Family Activities / Excursions, Wine, Oak Features (Librarian for a Day, PE Assistants, Parking Spots, Principal for a Day), Photography Sessions, and Pampering Items.

 

How Do I Pay For My Purchases?

When you register to bid you will enter a preferred credit card to use. After the Auction you will receive an invoice of your purchases and have 2 days to review and dispute any incorrect charges, then your card on file will be charged in full.

 

How Can I Help?

We are always looking for donations. Our auction parties are often our most profitable items. Do you have an idea for a fun grade level party? What about a Mom's (or Dad's) Night Out? Do you have a favorite wine you can donate to the Wine Wall? A favorite restaurant you'd donate a gift card for? Do you own or work for a company that can donate goods or services?
